    Description

Dask has emerged as the best way of tackling this. It allows easy parallel processing of chunks of larger-than-memory datasets, and is what Iris and xarray both use underneath. Rather than implement it directly though, it might be easier to use the Iris Cube implementation directly and drop the UngriddedData type.
